My Recital Jury is Tomorrow!

On a Happier Note
Every time I record my recital program, it sounds a bit better. Of course most of the time I’m still sitting there cringing at what I hear, but it’s definitely improving.
Now I just need to learn how to breathe. (Though using my emergency inhaler before running through the program seems to help.)

So tonight we had a sisterhood dinner to celebrate Theta Lambda’s anniversary (which is actually on Wednesday). It was so great to just relax with all my sisters and the MIT babies. Not mention I got to catch up with one of my friends that I never see because our schedules never match up.

Today I had my first rehearsal with my accompanist. She is this adorable old lady and is incredibly sweet. She said she was so impressed by my playing and how prepared I was considering this was only our first rehearsal.
On top of that, today was just a really good practice day in general. I think I can actually pull off this whole junior recital thing.

Today was one of those reed making days that consists completely of fail. All month I’ve made awesome reeds, but this week I’m in such a rut. Grrr. And tomorrow is another super busy class day so I won’t be able to tie some more reeds during the day.

Sharpen All the Knives!
That’s what I did today in reed class. All my teacher’s knives were super dull and she couldn’t get them sharp again (which is weird because she’s the queen of sharp knives). So I resharpened five of her knives. Also, she barely touched two of the reeds I brought to her and now they are amazing! I’m finally getting the hang of finishing reeds! Two out of five...
